Uganda Mission Tour

Known as the “Pearl of Africa,” Uganda is a beautiful and diverse country in East Africa, officially called the Republic of Uganda. It is bordered by Kenya to the east, South Sudan to the north, the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the west, Rwanda to the southwest, and Tanzania to the south. Located within the African Great Lakes region, Uganda is home to a large portion of Lake Victoria, one of the largest freshwater lakes in the world, and serves as the source of the White Nile River.

With a population of nearly 50 million people, Uganda is a nation full of vibrant culture, resilient communities, and a growing number of believers passionate about sharing the hope of Christ. The bustling capital city, Kampala, is home to over 8 million people, while smaller cities like Jinja offer a glimpse into the heart of local life and ministry.

Our ministry tour will focus on the Jinja District, located about 50 miles east of Kampala, along the northern shores of Lake Victoria. Jinja sits near the source of the Nile and is surrounded by lush green landscapes and warm, welcoming people. It is also home to several Global Outreach missionaries and partner ministries dedicated to serving Ugandans through education, discipleship, and community development.

During this trip, participants will have the opportunity to come alongside these ministries and witness how God is transforming lives. Some of the key ministry partners include:

  • Good Shepherd’s Fold (GSF) – Located just outside of Jinja, GSF serves as both a children’s home and a day school. The ministry cares for more than 50 residential children and over 300 day students. They also work with children with special needs and provide support for families to help prevent children from becoming orphaned.

  • Farming God’s Way – This ministry equips local farmers with biblical agricultural principles and practical skills to increase their crop yields sustainably. Beyond farming, this initiative focuses on discipleship, teaching farmers how to apply God’s Word to every area of life and stewardship.

  • Shepherd’s Heart International Ministry – Focused on pastoral training and encouragement, this ministry serves pastors and church leaders on the islands of Lake Victoria. We plan to travel to one of these islands as we encourage and fellowship with local pastors who are faithfully shepherding their communities.

  • Entrepreneurial Training Center – This initiative provides business training, microloans, and mentorship to help individuals start and sustain their own small businesses. It’s a beautiful way to see economic empowerment paired with biblical teaching on integrity, stewardship, and generosity.
  • Global Theological Seminary - Theological Education is a key mission strategy in this region where Christianity is growing rapidly and available leadership training is not. GTS provides accredited, formal ministry training at 3 different levels. GTS emphasizes expository preaching, multiplying disciples, strengthening existing churches and starting new churches that preach the Truth of God's Word. The key verse at GTS is 2 Timothy 2:2 - Pass It On.

Throughout the trip, you’ll experience the beauty of Uganda’s people, culture, and creation while engaging and encouraging missionaries. Every moment will be an opportunity to grow in faith and be part of what God is doing in East Africa.

Come join us as we partner with our Global Outreach missionaries in Jinja and beyond — seeing firsthand how God is using His people to bring hope, transformation, and the good news of Jesus to the nations.

These trip dates are still flexible as we are continuing to plan and work with our missionaries in Uganda.
