Uganda, officially the Republic of Uganda, is a landlocked country in East Africa. The country is bordered to the East by Kenya, to the North by South Sudan, to the West by the Democratic Republic of Congo, to the South-West by Rwanda, and to the South by Tanzania and Lake Victoria. As of 2023, it had a population of around 49.6 million, of which 8.5 million live in the capital city of Kampala. The Equator runs through the Southern part of Uganda. Uganda is known for its National Parks and beautiful climate. Winston Churchill called Uganda, "The Pearl of Africa." Global Theological Seminary overlooks part of Lake Victoria and is located just outside of Jinja where The River Nile begins its journey north to the Mediterranean through Uganda, South Sudan, Sudan, and Egypt. Jinja is known as "The Adventure Capital of East Africa."
Global Theological Seminary in Uganda equips generations of faithful men for the ministry and to rightly handling the Word of God. Their mission includes training men to communicate God’s Word effectively, helping them start and grow healthy churches, empowering them to impact their communities for Christ’s glory, and encouraging discipleship, mentorship, and church planting. They emphasize obtainable, low-cost theological education. GTS is a non-denominational school started by Baptists in 1992 determined to equip pastors and church leaders for the ministry of preaching and teaching the Bible. All professors at GTS are committed to proper evangelical, conservative interpretation of Scripture and prefer that interpretation over any denominational beliefs.
What we are looking for:
Those who have a heart to serve our seminary students and staff through teaching GTS courses, preaching in GTS Chapel or local churches, leading small groups or preaching in local churches, or helping with construction or maintenance projects at GTS. Our seminary professors teach seminary courses in 2 or 4 weeks segments. There are opportunities here for both short-term trips (anywhere from 1-4 weeks) or long-term jobs for missionary teaching professors. *Further requirements would be needed for long-term professors 2 years plus and can be discussed upon inquiry.
