Ecuador is a country in northwestern South America, bordered by Columbia on the north, Peru on the east and south, and the Pacific Ocean on the west. Ecuador also includes the Galapagos Islands in the Pacific, about 621 miles west of the mainland. The country's capital is Quito, and its largest city is Guayaquil. Ecuador is situated right on the equator, its namesake. It is the same size as the state of Nevada, but has the Amazon rainforest, Andes mountains, and Galápagos Islands. The capital city of Quito is nestled in the Andes at 9,000 feet above sea level. The historic churches stand against the backdrop of snow- covered volcanoes. The architecture dates to the Spanish conquest in the 1500’s.

- see church planting efforts in the Andes Highlands and also Amazon with the Shuar people,
- tour a Christian school on the edge of the Amazon,
- and see how English language outreach is used to serve the local church in Ambato.
