2025 GSF Internship

Uganda, officially the Republic of Uganda, is a landlocked country in East Africa. The country is bordered to the east by Kenya, to the north by South Sudan, to the west by the Democratic Republic of the Congo, to the south-west by Rwanda, and to the south by Tanzania. Uganda is in the African Great Lakes region, lies within the Nile basin, and includes a substantial portion of Lake Victoria in the southern part of the country. As of 2023, it had a population of around 49.6 million, of which 8.5 million live in the capital city of Kampala.

Good Shepherd’s Fold is a children’s home just outside of Jinja that has 50+ children in residence and has 300+ children in a day-school setting. They work with special needs children and work in the community to prevent children being orphaned.

The GSF summer internship program lasts for 8 weeks during the months of June and July. During that time, interns have the opportunity to live on campus at GSF in our guesthouse and serve in several departments within the ministry. We have several opportunities to serve, in the medical department, childcare, education, community development, and more.
 
Opportunity Description:

• College students (ages 19-21)
• 8 week duration during the summer (June-July)
• Cost includes living expenses and estimated airfare (any cost overage will go to support the ministry of GSF)
• You will have the opportunity to serve at in a variety of ways:
  • Teaching Sunday school
  • Leading devotions
  • Fulfilling specific responsibilities assigned based on your interests, skills, and area of study.
    • Some examples of these specific responsibilities include: tutoring/teaching, writing letters with children on the GSF Child Sponsorship Program, assisting the GSF medical team, working with children with special needs, helping with mission teams, participating in community outreach, and more.
